Hi!

My name is Lucy Balogh and I am currently finishing my third year of my Gender Studies degree at the University of Victoria. My favourite classes so far have been, “Intro to Trans Histories”, “Sexuality, International Development and the Body” and “Gender, Race and Power”. I also love taking History and English courses whenever I get the chance! I really love school and am so grateful to be a part of UVic’s awesome Gender Studies department. I am hoping to continue my studies by one day going to Law School.

When I am not studying I love spending time outside with my two rescue pitties Keely and Evie, and I am really passionate about how healing the relationship with animals can be. My favourite spots in Victoria are Mystic Beach and East Sooke Park.

I also love a good book and have recently really enjoyed The Vanishing Half, The Other Black Girl, and The Great Believers. I strongly believe in the importance of learning through stories and think that good books are some of the best things in the world.
